Preserve Ludington
It's about people, not politics.

Unity. Support. Collaboration. Progress.

Leadership belongs to people of character, first and foremost, and character is known by how you respect others and who you are when no one's looking.

Meet Dr. Carol Hoekstra
Hello, I am Dr Carol Hoekstra, doctor of Naturopath. I am running for Mayor of Ludington because I believe, with my whole heart, that this isn't about politics. It's about people. It's about everyone of us who loves this town and wants to see it grow without losing what makes it home.

People from every walk of life, every age, every belief come to my office on a daily basis. I treat each one with respect, and I listen. They have needs and concerns, I give them solutions, and then I follow up with them to check their progress. We consider and work toward reachable goals, and accomplish them. Where there is a will, there is a way.Â

Just as I listen to my clients, I would listen to the people of this city. Just as my clients and I share the same goals, for them to get well, I want to do my part in contributing to the wellness in every aspect of this city as Mayor.

A Blueprint for Local Progress
Unity
Listening to the community and being a bridge with the city council, police, businesses, and other leaders brings unity and better understanding to all parties.Â
Support
Local businesses and homeowners are a backbone to this city. I want to support their concerns with safety, funding, and welcome investments that fit the city..Â
Collaboration
Community mentorship programs could help solve repairs for the city and the locals utilizing the skills and knowledge of the elders while training the youth.
Progress
We can honor what's rooted in Ludington's history and what our ancestors built here, while still focusing on our future, and keeping Ludington with its individuality that we call home.
Funding for LocalsÂ
There are family and small-business programs that work in other communities but for some reason have not been implemented here.Â

Bringing Healing
We have many health organizations and they are our great workers in this issue but they need to be utilized so people see more results and milestones throughout their care-journeys.Â

Voice for Locals
Common courtesy would include discussing with the people of this town and listening to them for decisions, and allowing their opinions to matter. We need to make amends for the hurts already done.

Support is behind the WorkÂ
