Policy for the Locals

I remember Ludington when I was a child, it was beautiful, fun, and focused on its history.

It needs to be run by the locals who aren't compromised. Grants must be for the locals, for families, and for small businesses. We need grants to fix what we have. We can welcome investments and new businesses that fit the city, protect property values, and respect the needs of the current residents. Tourism is very important, but so are the day to day operations of a city, and careers and jobs that give our graduates a reason to stay.

Healthcare must be affordable for all Ludington residents. Public Safety must be an actionable talking point for ALL neighborhoods. Our seniors ALL need honor and support. The youth want something to live for and the elders want something to pass on. Businesses want to be able to survive the winters, and get a day off in the summer. Bringing in career jobs and more industry to the county would help solidify year-round work.

Let's restore Ludington to its former glory.

Programs for Locals

I am proposing a strategy to invest taxes back into the locals first. I want every decision that the City Council makes to include discussion about how it would benefit the locals.

This common courtesy is the type of influence I want to have over the councilors as your mayor.

One example of a program is Teen Challenge, it has an 80% working rate. Most places have an 11% working rate. I have seen families preserved with good programs and it is time to bring them here to Ludington. Our parents are crying because the children are suffering, and the children are crying because the parents are suffering. Grandparents are upset because things have changed so much, in the wrong direction, and beyond their control, and sometimes they have to take over and raise the grand kids.

We need residential and small-business Revitalization Programs and to apply for grants for same. We have a program we use in Mason County, but it does not cover all walks of locals in Ludington. We need a program for All to Prosper.

Healthcare Results

In my job, all day long, I must determine the correct course of action for each individual situation. Both short-term and long-term. I must consider every person's concerns, feelings and ideas, as well as my own experience and knowledge of how the body naturally works.

Mental health is quite the talk in Ludington, as well as addictions. There are avenues of Hope without judgement that have not been explored that have helped many people, and answers that have not yet been presented to this area but are effective.

Local Voice

We need to bring back community again and stop being divided.

Common courtesy would include discussing matters with the people of this town, and allowing their voices and opinions to matter. We need to make amends to the hurts already done to so many of the people.

I have seen public meetings where the locals voiced their opinions against something but were not taken into consideration.

Our seniors are at the same level of importance as anyone else. They are being supported in good ways but what has been missing is a solution to the fact that a lot of them are still struggling to pay bills and general costs of living, even on social security. Why are taxes going up without anyone considering bringing in long-term year-round corporations, and why were some large corporations not allowed to come to the area to provide jobs?

Our politicians fail to support the generation that built all of us to this point in Ludington. It is dishonoring to them.

Common courtesy is what I want to bring back to local Ludington politics. I we had it, the council would listen tot he concerns of the people and the people would feel respected. It would be a great relationship.

Public Safety

I am looking forward to meeting and working with Chief Christopher Jones, Captain Michael Haveman, and all the officers on the Ludington Police Department. I am also looking forward to working with Fire Chief John Henderson and the firefighters, and I am looking forward to working with the paramedic team on Life EMS.

I think Kim Cole is a good sheriff for our county and I think under sheriff Derrek Wilson will be a good successor.

Public Safety for locals does not include data centers or clean energy (windmills, battery plants, and solar farms). They are fine for small-scale ideas, but not large scale.

If there are plans for a data center to come to Ludington it is good to get in front of a crisis than watch it unfold havoc on the residents that I have helped for 15 years.

A ruling decrees national security centers cannot use any parts made in China. The 2024 Nationalization Act says that if you build anything for national security you cannot use parts from China.

The city council ought to be making decisions based on safety for all of the locals tourists alike. I want to encourage that as a topic of discussion in public meetings.
